How Does it Work?

1.  Customer picks a piece of pottery
2.  Choose paint and supplies
3.  Decorate using brushes, sponges & stamps. Piece takes 24 hours to dry after painting. Remember pick up time for all fired pieces is 1 week from the day you finished painting.
4.  An EGF employee dips piece into clear glaze.
5.  Dipping is complete. Piece must dry for 24 hours after it is glazed.
6.  Loading the kiln. This is the "big oven" we "bake" your pieces in. The temperature must rise up to 1829 degrees and drop down to 100 degrees before we can unload it. This also takes about 24 hours.
7.  A happy customer with a beautiful, completed piece. All pottery that is dipped and fired is food safe but is not dishwasher, microwave or oven safe. Extreme temperature changes can cause the piece to form tiny hair-line cracks which can harbor bacteria if you continue to use it.

Cost: The total cost for your visit to EGF depends on the piece you pick. Since we have such a variety of pieces and the stock continually changes, there is not a list of prices we can provide. However, the pricing works like this: Prices are located on the bottom of the pottery and there is a 50% studio fee added to this price for paints, glazing, firing, and studio time. Example: If a piece is $12.00 then you add a $6.00 studio fee making the total cost $18.00 plus tax (5%.)
